The cat is out of the bag and a new big name celebrity steps up to become the latest spokesperson for Nutrisystem. Janet Jackson spearheads their latest promotional diet plan codenamed Nutrisystem Success™!
After a lot of cloak and dagger backroom planning and stealth which saw affiliates prevented from starting cleverly crafted rumors to put out teasers that there would be a new celebrity coming on board soon, the news broke this morning. The official announcement was made that pop star Janet Jackson is that big name celebrity who will act as spokesperson for the company. She is featured in a new collection of advertisements for the company and has lost weight herself using Nutrisystem as the basis of her latest diet.
Fans across America will be tuning in to their TVs today and seeing the new commercials featuring Janet talking about her weight loss with Nutrisystem and how great she thinks the diet program is. Of course she would, since she is being paid an undisclosed sum to promote the company! But that’s neither here nor there as the big news is that America’s favorite diet company have put their money behind a promotional campaign that is set to anchor them as the number one diet company ahead of rivals Jenny Craig.

The Janet Jackson and Nutrisystem are collaborating on a big charity scheme named Nutribank which is being put together to distribute meals to the hungry. The idea is being kicked off in 2012 with the company providing $10 million in food contributions. They pledge to give the value of one dollar of company food to the scheme for every pound that is recorded as lost by their customers in 2012. Quite how they will monitor that will be a challenge in itself, although it is sure to provide a great motivating factor to customers to lose more weight by doing as much as they can to help themselves while on the diet.
These two make pretty good partners as they are both hugely popular, well established and have been household names for many years. The new diet plan accompanying the promotion takes over from their previous promotion which ended today.
