Be Positive About Losing Weight

Welcome back to the Top 100 weight loss tips. This particular post is article number 11 in the series that brings you a full library of great tips to help you to lose weight.

This post counts as an inspiration to anyone who is laboring under the misapprehension that losing weight is a difficult thing to do.

Believing that something is difficult is a very negative feeling and does you no good whatsoever when you are trying to achieve something. So how do you turn it around?

Think Positive Thoughts About Losing Weight

What is worse than believing that you can't do something? Believing that you can't change that belief!

If that sounds a little like double Dutch, then its not meant to, but really means that you don't have to be stuck in a negative mindset about anything. You can change you own mindset just by wanting to change it.

When you want to do something, you put 100% effort into doing it, don't you? Of course you do, otherwise you didn't really want it enough in the first place. Make sense? Good.

So by altering your outlook on your ability to successfully lose weight fast to a positive one, where you know in your heart that you can do it, your belief will follow suit. And before you know it you will believe that you can do it!

It's been proven scientifically that positive change is easier to bring about than negative change. So instead of thinking about certain foods as being "bad" and that you must feel like you really need to cut them out of your diet, alter your mindset away from this negative way of thinking.

That is to stop thinking about what you don't want and change it to a positive way of thinking, which is thinking about what you do want. So now you can think about all the great new recipes and tasty, healthy foods you will get to try out when you begin to experiment with more types of vegetables, or more varieties of beans or legumes, adding different types of spices etc.

This can be a hugely empowering process that really gets you into the positive swing of wanting to eat healthily which totally moves your focus away from the things that you should not be eating.

Mental Exercise

You can take this one important stage further by now altering your mindset when it comes to weight loss exercise, which is the other half of the equation. If you tend to think of exercise as something you hate to do for a whole collection of reasons, then alter that way of thinking just like you did with food.

So now you can begin to think of types of exercise that you would like to try out.

It could be that you always wanted to follow the Jillian Michaels losing it program, but were prevented by your own thoughts of not being able to. Now you can!

Or maybe you had the idea of getting a Zumba fitness DVD and learning all those great Latin dance exercise routines, but feared you might not be able to do it. Now you can!

Or maybe you saw some promotional things for Suzanne Somers sexy forever program and wanted to try it but didn't think you could do what she did. Now you can!

Maybe you'd like to go swimming but never considered it because it seemed like a lot of trouble to go to. Instead, think about how you'd love to splash around in a pool with some friends and have a really great time.

That wouldn't even seem like exercise, because it would be so much fun! Or how about arranging to go for a walk in your local park every day, not as an exercise but as something you feel like it would be enjoyable to do. You could maybe feed the ducks in the lake, or walk your dog if you have one.

Whatever you do, when you make it fun then you will want to do it, which is exactly the positive way of thinking you want to have!
