Welcome again to another of my great Top 100 weight loss tips. This post is article number 25 in the series and provides you with another useful tip to help you lose weight. This is an original article written for weightlossgo.com and is copyright protected. In this post I want to look at the things that motivate a person to lose those extra pounds and to examine where that motivation actually comes from.
It may surprise you to learn that motivation does not necessarily need to come from within. While its a great place for it to originate from, you may be surprised at some of the external places that motivation can be gained from, as we shall see in this article.
Motivation from All Around You
When you think about it, you can draw motivation from all around you as well as from that well of will power that you have residing within you. If you’re not sure how to find those external motivating forces, then think along these lines:
How do you think your children see you? As a slim, fit and healthy parent or as an overweight slob? If you are reading this, chances are you fall into the latter category and you are actively seeking ways and means to do something about it. So there’s a great motivator, right in front of your eyes. Your children’s view of you! Let your need to impress your kids that you are working on becoming the slim, fit parent they want you to be become your source of inspiration and motivation!
Or what about your friends? Do they see you as fit and slim or fat and chubby? How about drawing motivation from your need to show your friends that you are a fighter and that you are determined to shed the excess flab and get yourself into a fitter better looking body by starting a great diet and a daily exercise routine!
Or maybe you can show people how you are backing your will to succeed by committing to a commercial diet like Nutrisystem or eDiets or something similar. Or maybe buying a home fitness program such as the Zumba fitness dvd collection or a celebrity program like the Denise Austin daily workout or the top TV fitness guru Jillian Michaels losing it program!
See where you can draw your motivation from? They are just two examples but there are plenty more around you to make use of.
So get out there and find your motivation from places other than just from within yourself. Mean to workout for someone else that you really care about. And if you ever feel yourself wavering or wanting to quit, think of their hopeful faces looking up at you with a smile that says they’re so proud of you for your achievements. And you know what? You won’t have the heart to quit!
That’s because if ever you don’t feel like doing a strenuous workout like the P90X or some Turbulence Training any time, just remember that its not just you who misses out. You’re doing it for them too!
