With eleven great tips already under the belt and each new article bringing you another great top tip on how to lose weight the easy way, we’re going to take a look at why sticking to a routine is highly beneficial to your efforts.

Routine rules ok! At least in the world of weight loss when you need a regular set of workout rules to work with and when you find one that suits you, then stick to it.

How Does Sticking to a Routine Help Me Lose Weight?

Patterns and routines are good for us humans, especially when it comes to setting out to lose weight. It makes sense that once you’ve found a comfortable workout zone, doing your best to stick to it will help you enormously when it comes to making those excess calories vanish. That’s because routines give us something regular and expected that we know will always stay the same and keep us in that cozy comfort zone.

It may come as no surprise to learn that you really should exercise no fewer than three times per week and then for a good forty to sixty minutes each time. Better if you can make that five times a week, but you shouldn’t feel that you need to do it more often than that. Of course you should do lighter daily exercise every day in addition to your workout schedule. But this can comprise little more than going for long walks or going for a swim with friends as a way of both relaxing, de-stressing and still getting the additional simple exercise that your body will really thank you for by toning up and making you feel great!

Your body will in all likelihood appreciate a good burn-off in the mornings more than any other time, but if you feel that you need to relieve stress later in the evening, then if you have time, treat yourself to an extra workout if you want. You should remain flexible within your routine, so don’t be afraid to go right ahead and adjust your workout schedule to fit your needs. You could even try out some dance based exercises such as Zumba fitness or check out what TV workout guru Jillian Michaels can do for you. Take each day as it comes!

Routine and schedules are important for plenty of other areas in your life, but so far we’ve been focusing mainly on the exercise routines that make up many serious weight loss plans.

A solid routine in your Diet also helps to keep the momentum going. But never make it so rigid that you’ll go crazy. A good routine in your diet can make up the core of the diet plan, while you can add variety and interest by building around that core plan. By this, I mean you have a set menu of the basics for each meal, which you can add to by using additional items such as a different vegetable or fruit or anything that will not add much to the calorie count of your set meal. That way you can add variety without sacrificing extra calories. So while sticking with a routine for losing weight brings success, that success ultimately depends upon you sticking to that routine. The best way for doing that is to make the routine into the foundation of your combined diet and exercise plan, while adding variety around it to make it more interesting and enjoyable. Because as I’m always saying, when you can enjoy losing weight, then you are much more likely to stick with it and see it all the way through to your goal.
