We often use this time of the year to chime in our new affirmations to lose weight and get fitter and healthier, which is normal after having suffered the ill effects of the Christmas season with overeating, drinking too much and all the excesses and lack of exercise this end of year period tends place on us. So come the first of January, its a really good time to shake off the Christmas cobwebs, restock the fridge with healthy food and make a promise to ourselves that we will not only lose the weight that we piled on over the previous two weeks, but also lose a little more in preparation for a spring and summer that are just around the corner, when it will be time to wriggle our bodies into those tighter fitting, more revealing summery clothes and we want to look our best!

So now is the time to start with the weight loss!

There are plenty of ways in which you can go about shedding some of the excess weight you put on over the festive season. Getting out of the house and walking around the block a few times is a good start. If you have a dog, then give the poor fellow a good long walk! resolve to do that at least twice every day and you’ll be surprised at how much easier it becomes to start dropping a few pounds. Of course you should also buoy that exercise up with a diet switch to healthier food and cut out the fizzy soda drinks altogether, because they are not doing you any favors!
